The Filter in KWFinder hides the keywords that do not match your conditions, for example a minimum search volume or a maximum Keyword Difficulty (KD). It works only on the keywords already in the list. It does not fetch new keywords, and it uses no lookups.
Set a filter
Select Filter above the keyword list.
Fill in the fields you need. Leave the others empty.
Select Set filter.
The switch next to Filter turns the filter on and off and keeps your settings. Reset clears every field and turns the filter off.
Which fields can you filter by?
Search Volume, CPC, PPC, Keyword Difficulty and Number of words: a MIN and a MAX. Leave one of them empty for no limit on that side.
Included keywords and Excluded keywords: words that must or must not appear in the keyword.
Show keywords: All, or Not in lists.
Content type (TOP5 rankings URLs), Search intent, Keyword opportunities (TOP 5 ranking URLs) and SERP features: one or more values from a list.
In a search by domain and in Keyword Gap only: Estimated Traffic and SERP Position.
The Search Volume filter uses the timeframe you chose in the Search column. In a search by domain it uses the 12-month average. CPC uses the CPC currency you chose. If you switched KD to relative values for your own URL, the Keyword Difficulty fields use the relative KD.
How included and excluded keywords match
In the KWFinder filter, type a word in Included keywords or Excluded keywords and press Enter. The filter matches the text anywhere in the keyword, also inside a longer word. So seo also matches "seoul". Capital letters make no difference. For a narrower match, use a longer word or a phrase such as seo tool.
Each of the two fields has a switch between OR and AND. OR is selected when you start.
Included keywords with OR keeps keywords that contain at least one of your words. With AND, a keyword must contain all of them.
Excluded keywords with OR hides keywords that contain any of your words. With AND, it hides only keywords that contain all of them.
Hide keywords you already saved to a list
Under Show keywords, select Not in lists. The filter then hides every keyword that is in one of your lists. The filter has no option to show only the keywords that are already in lists. To see those, open the list from Lists in the top menu. See Save keywords to lists.
Content type, keyword opportunities and SERP features
The content type, keyword opportunities and SERP features filters use data from each keyword's Google results. KWFinder may not have that data yet for every keyword in the list. Selecting a keyword loads it, together with the KD.
When you use one of these filters, keywords without the data are hidden. To keep them in the list, also choose the option that starts with "Available on-demand".
Content type and keyword opportunities look at the top 5 ranking URLs, as their labels say.
When the filter turns off
A new search, an import or opening a list turns the KWFinder filter off. Your settings stay. To use them again, turn on the switch next to Filter.
KWFinder remembers the filter settings in this browser, also after you reload the page.
"Sorry, no keywords for given filter"
KWFinder found keywords, but your filter hides all of them. The keyword you searched stays at the top of the list. Select Change filter settings and loosen or clear the filter. For other messages, see KWFinder shows no results: 'processing', errors and limit messages.
Find one keyword in a list or an import
In a saved list or an import, a Find in table... box sits next to Filter and Clusters. It shows only the keywords that contain your text. Press / or Ctrl+F (Cmd+F on a Mac) to jump to it.
To group the list by shared words instead, see Clusters, search history and keyboard shortcuts.
