Save keywords to lists

Lists keep the KWFinder keywords you want to come back to.

Written by Dev + MKT

Lists keep the KWFinder keywords you want to come back to. Select keywords and select Add to list, or click the star next to one keyword. A list holds 10,000 keywords at most, and your lists are saved in your Mangools account.

Add keywords to a list

  1. Tick the keywords you want. To select every keyword in the table, tick the box at the top of the list, or press Ctrl+A (Cmd+A on a Mac).

  2. Select Add to list under the table.

  3. In Add keywords to a list, choose Existing list, pick the list and select Add keywords. For a new list, choose New list, type a name and select Create list & Add keywords.

The Add keywords to a list window with Existing list greyed out (no lists yet), New list selected, the list name box and Create list & Add keywords.

To add a single keyword, click the star next to it. A list name is 2 to 100 characters long. Existing list becomes available once you have one list.

How many keywords can a list hold?

A KWFinder list holds 10,000 keywords at most. Each list shows its count, for example "250 / 10,000", and the count turns red when the list is full.

When the keywords do not fit, KWFinder says so and adds nothing:

  • "You can't exceed 10,000 keywords limit per list." when you try to put more than 10,000 keywords in a new list.

  • "You can add ... more keywords to ... list, but trying to add ..." with the numbers, when an existing list has less room than you need.

  • "List ... is already full." when the list has no room left.

To keep more keywords, select fewer, or start a new list for the rest.

See which lists a keyword is in

A keyword that is already in a list has a highlighted star. Point at the star to see the names of its lists. Click a name to open that list, or the x next to it to remove the keyword from that list.

Open, rename, export or delete a list

Select Lists in the KWFinder top menu. The number next to it is how many lists you have. The Keyword lists panel shows each list with its keyword count and the date it was last changed. Type in Search for a list... to find one by name.

  • Open: click the list. An empty list is greyed out and does not open.

  • Rename: select the pencil icon, type the new name and press Enter.

  • Export: select the download icon. KWFinder saves the whole list as a CSV file. See Export keywords and open the file in Excel.

  • Delete: select the trash icon, then Yes, delete list.

Deleting a list cannot be undone. The confirmation says "Keep in mind this action cannot be reverted."

Work with the keywords inside a list

An open list appears in the KWFinder keyword table, and KWFinder loads the SERP overview of its first keyword. Each keyword keeps the location it was saved with. A short code next to the keyword shows it, and pointing at the code shows the full location name.

The buttons under the table work on the keywords you tick: Track, Refresh, Add to list and Export. Refresh updates the Keyword Difficulty (KD) of the selected keywords and uses SERP lookups. The trash button removes the selected keywords from this list. KWFinder asks first, and the removal cannot be undone.

The Filter and the Find in table... box work inside a list too.

Track list keywords in SERPWatcher

  1. Open Lists and select Track keywords on the list.

  2. In Track in SERPWatcher, pick one of your trackings and select Add to tracking. Or select Create new tracking.

SERPWatcher opens in a new tab with the list. To track only some keywords, tick them in the table and select Track under it instead.

Each keyword you track uses tracked keywords in SERPWatcher, once per location and once per device. See How tracked keywords are counted: locations, desktop and mobile before you start. Add keywords from a file, KWFinder, Search Console or SE Ranking covers the SERPWatcher side.
