When KWFinder shows no keywords, the message on the screen tells you why. The usual causes are: your lookups are used up, you sent searches too fast, KWFinder found nothing for that search, or your browser lost the connection. Find the message you see below.
Keep the message open while you read. The exact wording decides what to do.
"You've used all of your searches"
KWFinder shows "You've used all of your searches. Please upgrade, or wait for the counters to reset." when a limit on your plan is used up for now. The message appears in a window headed "You're doing too much", with an Upgrade my plan button. The window does not say which limit ran out.
Open the account menu from your avatar at the top right. It shows how many keyword lookups and SERP lookups you have left, and when they reset. A KWFinder search uses a keyword lookup. The search also loads the Keyword Difficulty (KD) of the keyword you searched, and clicking another keyword in the list loads its KD. Calculating KD uses a SERP lookup.
You can wait for the reset, or move to a larger plan. Customers on Agency see the same Upgrade my plan button, although Agency is the largest plan on the pricing page. Out of limits? Your options covers every choice.
"You will need to upgrade your Mangools plan"
With no keyword lookups left, the table says "You will need to upgrade your Mangools plan, if you want to continue using our SEO tools." The cause is the same as the window above, shown in the keyword table instead. Check the account menu for what is left and when it resets.
"Your plan has expired"
On the Free plan, the SERP overview panel on the right says "Your plan has expired" when the Free plan's SERP lookups are used up. Your account still exists, and the Free plan's lookups are counted per 24 hours. Any paid plan, and Free+, sees "You're doing too much" in the same place instead. Below it, the panel says "If you need more SERP lookups, upgrade your plan, or wait for the lookups to reset."
The import screen shows the same words to anyone who is not signed in. Sign in, then open the import again. If you pay for a plan and see this message while signed in, contact us.
"Too many requests" or "You're sending requests too fast"
KWFinder received several searches in a very short time and paused them. Nothing is used up from your limits. Wait a moment and search again.
You may also see "We're sorry, you exceeded the maximum allowed API requests per second." It means the same thing. On the import screen, the message usually says how many seconds to wait.
If this message keeps coming back after you wait, open the account menu. If it shows 0 keyword lookups left, the real cause is your limit, not your speed.
"Sorry, we haven't found anything" or "Sorry, no related keywords found"
The keyword table says "Sorry, no related keywords found" when KWFinder returned no related keywords for your search. KWFinder can also show "Sorry, we haven't found anything" below the list when it found one keyword or none.
The keyword table also says "Sorry, no related keywords found" after a search that failed. If a message such as "There was an error while fetching related keywords data." opened first, see the section on that message below. Searching the same keyword again can give a different answer, so try once more before you change anything.
If the table is still empty, check two things:
The location and language. Check that both match the market you are researching, and the language the keyword is written in.
The topic. KWFinder does not return suggestions for sensitive topics, such as adult content, drugs or violence.
You can also switch to the Autocomplete or Questions tab. They collect ideas from a different source and can work where the suggestions do not. Otherwise, try a broader seed keyword.
"Sorry, no competitor keywords found"
KWFinder shows "Sorry, no competitor keywords found" when you search by a domain or URL and it finds no keywords that page ranks for. Capital letters and a slash at the end of the URL change the result, so check that the URL matches the page exactly. Then try the domain alone, or a different URL.
"Sorry, no keywords for given filter"
KWFinder found keywords, but your filter hides all of them. Select Change filter settings and loosen or clear the filter.
"We're sorry, related keywords are temporarily unavailable"
KWFinder shows "We're sorry, related keywords are temporarily unavailable." when an outside data source it uses did not answer. Select Reload related keywords. If the message stays after a few tries, contact us.
Autocomplete or Questions show an error
The Autocomplete and Questions tabs ask Google for ideas directly from your browser. If Google receives too many of those requests from your IP address, it blocks them for a while. KWFinder then says "Google API rate limit" and that your IP address might be temporarily blocked. Wait a few minutes, and use the Related keywords tab in the meantime.
Because these two tabs run in your browser, a VPN or an ad blocker can also stop them. If Autocomplete or Questions list nothing, check the location and language first.
"Connection problem" or "There was an error while fetching"
KWFinder could not reach our servers. It already tried once more on its own before it showed the message. The usual cause is the network, or a browser extension such as an ad blocker blocking the request. Turn the extension off for Mangools, reload the page and search again.
"There was an error while fetching related keywords data." means the search took too long or failed. A keyword KWFinder has never seen before can take close to a minute to load. Wait a minute and search again. When we checked, the attempt that showed no keywords did not use a lookup, and the search that worked used one keyword lookup. Repeating the same search a few seconds later did not use a second one.
"We're sorry, our services are currently undergoing maintenance." means KWFinder is down for maintenance. Try again later.
"We are currently processing your keywords"
"We are currently processing your keywords" is a SERPWatcher message, not a KWFinder one. It appears while SERPWatcher is still collecting today's rankings. Rankings missing, stuck on 'processing' or showing 101+ explains it.
None of this fixed it
