Email reports and rank alerts

SERPWatcher can email your rankings to you weekly or monthly.

Written by Dev + MKT

SERPWatcher can email your rankings to you weekly or monthly. It can also alert you when a keyword enters or leaves the top 10 or the top 100. You set both up per tracking, under Reports & Alerts at the top right of the tracking.

Every new tracking already has a weekly and a monthly report to your own email address. Alerts have four triggers, listed below. There is no alert for a drop of a certain number of positions.

Set up a weekly or monthly report

  1. Open the tracking in SERPWatcher.

  2. Select Reports & Alerts at the top right. A panel opens with the reports you already have.

  3. Select Create new report or alert.

  4. Choose Weekly or Monthly. Weekly is selected already.

  5. Add the email addresses that should get the report. Press Tab or Enter after each one. Your own address is already in the list.

  6. Give the report a name, or keep the one SERPWatcher suggests, such as "Weekly #1" or "Monthly #1".

  7. Select Create Report profile.

Recipients do not need a Mangools account.

Set up a rank alert

  1. In Reports & Alerts, select Create new report or alert.

  2. Choose Alert.

  3. Tick one or more triggers. Keyword enters TOP 10 is ticked already.

  4. Add the recipients and a name, as for a report. SERPWatcher suggests the name "Alert".

  5. Select Create Report profile.

A SERPWatcher alert needs at least one trigger. You cannot select Create Report profile until one is ticked.

Which changes can a SERPWatcher alert tell you about?

A SERPWatcher alert has four triggers. You can tick any of them:

  • Keyword enters TOP 10

  • Keyword enters TOP 100

  • Keyword leaves TOP 10

  • Keyword leaves TOP 100

An alert cannot watch for a drop or a rise of a given number of positions. To follow movements in detail, use a weekly report or open the tracking.

How many recipients and reports can you add?

Each SERPWatcher report or alert can go to up to 10 email addresses, your own included. At 10, SERPWatcher shows "You reached a maximum of 10 emails per report." and adds no more.

A tracking can have up to 20 reports and alerts in total. The two reports every new tracking gets count towards the 20. At 20, Create new report or alert is replaced by "You have reached the limit for active reports per tracking." To add more, delete one you no longer need.

When do SERPWatcher reports arrive?

Every new SERPWatcher tracking gets two email reports to your account's email address: "Weekly report" and "Monthly report". The "Tracking was created" screen mentions only the weekly one. You can change or delete both in Reports & Alerts.

In SERPWatcher, weekly reports are sent every Monday and monthly reports on the 1st of the month. The panel says "Regular report sent on every Monday." and "Regular report sent on 1st of month."

A report can only show the rankings SERPWatcher has collected. On Basic and Premium, rankings update once a week. See How often SERPWatcher updates your rankings.

Change or stop a report

Open Reports & Alerts on the tracking and select the report. Change what you need and select Update report profile. To stop the emails, select Delete.

If you cancel your plan by disabling auto-renewal, SERPWatcher stops tracking your keyword positions once the plan ends. See Cancel your subscription.
