Most SERPWatcher rankings that look missing or stuck are waiting for a check, or the dates you selected are from before the keyword was added. New keywords need a few minutes for their first rank, and on Basic and Premium, rankings change only once a week.
You see | It means | What to do |
A number | The position in Google | Nothing |
101+ | Not in the top 100 | Nothing. It is a result, not an error |
A spinner | The rank is being evaluated now | Reload later |
"Change timeframe to see data for this keyword!" | The dates you selected end before the keyword was added | Choose Today or Entire history in the date picker |
A grey question mark in Change | The dates start before the keyword's first rank | Start the dates on or after the day you added the keyword |
What the number in the rank column means
The number in the Rank column is your domain's position in Google for that keyword, in the tracking's location and on its device. Hover over it to see "Last updated" with the date of the check. The tooltip shows a date, not a time. If several pages of your domain rank, the keyword's details list each page with its own position.
What "101+" means
"101+" means your domain is not in Google's top 100 for that keyword, location and device. SERPWatcher checks the top 100 positions, so anything lower shows as "101+". It is a real result, not a missing one.
A spinner in the rank column
A spinner with the tooltip "Evaluating rank for this keyword" means SERPWatcher is checking that keyword now. SERPWatcher shows the spinner only when your dates end today. Wait, then reload the tracking.
"Change timeframe to see data for this keyword!"
In SERPWatcher, the row "Change timeframe to see data for this keyword!" means the dates you selected end before you added that keyword. SERPWatcher has no ranks for the keyword on those dates. When every row says it, both indexes at the top of the tracking show "N/A".
Ready-made periods such as Last 7 days and Last 30 days end yesterday. A keyword you added today shows this message in them. To see its ranks:
Select Change timeframe in the keyword row to open the date picker.
In Choose a timeframe, select Today or Entire history.
Select Set timeframe.
A grey question mark: "Unknown value"
In SERPWatcher, a grey question mark in the Change column means the dates you selected start before the keyword had a rank. Its tooltip says "Unknown value". Without a starting rank, SERPWatcher cannot work out a change. The Rank column still shows the rank. To see the change, choose dates that start on or after the day you added the keyword.
A grey question mark in the Rank column means SERPWatcher has no rank for that keyword on the last day you selected. Choose dates that end today to see the current rank.
"We are currently processing your keywords"
SERPWatcher shows "We are currently processing your keywords. Your data should be available soon." while today's rankings are still being collected. The message appears when you view Today. Select Reload in the message after a few minutes to see the new data.
A similar message says "You have requested today's data. Some keywords are not processed yet." SERPWatcher shows it when your dates end today but start earlier. It means the same thing: come back later, or reload the tracking.
You just created a tracking
When you create a tracking, SERPWatcher says "Your ranks will be ready in about" a number of minutes. If a keyword still has no rank after that time, reload the tracking.
"Rank evaluation postponed"
SERPWatcher shows "Rank evaluation postponed" when you add keywords or clone a tracking and the new keywords exceed a limit per 24 hours. The message says your keywords "will have rank evaluation postponed due to reaching your" limit of "rank evaluations per 24h". That limit is the same number as your plan's tracked-keyword limit. The limit is counted per 24 hours. If a postponed keyword still has no rank after a day, contact us through the live chat or at [email protected] with the tracking's domain.
Your rankings have not changed for days
On Basic and Premium, SERPWatcher updates rankings once a week. Agency and Custom update daily. The date picker marks each scheduled update day with a red dot and the tooltip "Top 100 update is scheduled". On weekly plans, these days are Sundays. Between weekly updates, the same rank on several days is expected. On the Free plan, SERPWatcher ranking updates stop 30 days after registration. If you moved to Free from a paid plan, they stop 30 days after your last payment. See Free and Free+ plans explained. How often SERPWatcher updates your rankings has the details.
What the arrows next to a rank mean
A green arrow up: the keyword moved up by the number shown.
A red arrow down: the keyword dropped by the number shown.
A grey dot: "No change."
For a keyword you added during the selected period, the change is counted only from the day you added it. The tooltip says so and gives the date.
The rank is different from your own Google search
A rank that differs from your own search is not a missing rank. Why your SERPWatcher ranking differs from what you see in Google explains it, and shows how to see the exact results page SERPWatcher checked.
