Mangools has two Looker Studio connectors: one for SERPWatcher and one for AI Search Watcher. Each one needs an authentication token from your Mangools account and the ID of the tracking or monitor you want in your report. The token belongs to your account, so one token works for all your trackings, or all your monitors.
Connect a SERPWatcher tracking
Open the tracking in SERPWatcher.
Select Looker Studio at the top right. On a small screen, it is in the three-dot menu. A window opens: "Copy your authentication token".
Select Copy next to the token. If the field is empty, select Generate new token first.
Copy the tracking ID from the address bar of your browser. It is the part after
id=in the tracking's address, up to the next&, if there is one.In the same window, select Mangools SERPWatcher connector. Looker Studio opens in a new tab with the connector.
In Looker Studio, give the connector access to your Google account. Paste the token and the tracking ID where the connector asks for them.
Connect the data source and create your report.
A tracking is one domain in one location on one device. To report on several trackings, connect each one with its own tracking ID. The token stays the same.
Connect an AI Search Watcher monitor
Open the monitor in AI Search Watcher.
Select Share & Looker Studio in the menu on the left.
In the Looker Studio connector card, select Generate token if there is no token yet, then Copy token.
Under Monitor ID, select Copy ID.
Select AI SW connector. Looker Studio opens with a search for the Mangools AI Search Watcher connector.
Add the connector and paste the token and the monitor ID when it asks for them.
Share & Looker Studio is greyed out while a new monitor collects its first results. If that takes long, see Why your monitor shows no data yet.
One token for your account
The Looker Studio token belongs to your Mangools account, not to one tracking or monitor. SERPWatcher and AI Search Watcher each have their own token. Copy the token from the app whose connector you are setting up.
Treat the token like a password. Do not post it or send it to anyone, including us.
Generate a new token
In SERPWatcher, select Generate new token in the token window. SERPWatcher confirms "Looker Studio token regenerated successfully". The old SERPWatcher token then stops working. Open every Looker Studio data source that used it and enter the new token.
In AI Search Watcher, select Re-generate token in the Looker Studio connector card. The page says "New token has been successfully generated". If a report stops loading data after that, open its data source in Looker Studio and enter the new token.
Instructions that mention "Data Studio"
Looker Studio is Google's new name for Data Studio. If instructions tell you to select a "Data Studio" button in a tracking, select Looker Studio instead. It shows the same token in every tracking, because the token belongs to your account.
Looker Studio shows an error
Check that you pasted the whole token, and the ID of the right tracking or monitor.
If you generated a new token, enter it in the data source again.
If Looker Studio shows an error for every connector, not only for Mangools, the problem may be on Google's side. Try again later.
If the error stays, contact us through the live chat or at [email protected]. Send the connector you used, the tracking or monitor ID, and the exact error text or a screenshot. Do not send the token.
To share rankings without Looker Studio, see Share a tracking with a link or Share a monitor and get email reports.
