SEO Content Optimizer checks one page against a target keyword and the top 5 Google results for it. It also checks the queries the page gets in Google Search Console (GSC). You can use it without a Mangools account, but you must connect a Google account that can see the page's Search Console data.
Searches are limited, and some results are shown in full only when you are signed in to Mangools.
What you need first
The full URL of a page on your website.
A Google account with access to that website's Search Console property.
A page that already ranks for some keywords, so that Search Console has data for it.
How do you check a page?
Open SEO Content Optimizer.
Enter the page URL, for example
https://www.example.com/path.Enter the target keyword: 2 to 80 characters, at most 10 words.
Choose a location. It starts at Worldwide. Type to search more places.
Select Continue with GSC.
In the Google window, choose the account that has access to the website and allow the access.
The check then runs. The button shows its progress until the results appear.
What Google access does it ask for?
SEO Content Optimizer asks Google for your email address and for access to your Search Console data. The request includes Google's full Search Console permission, not only the read-only one. It also asks for offline access, which lets the access continue after you close the window.
The access goes to Mangools with your check. If you do not want to grant it, close the Google window. The tool cannot check a page without it.
What the results mean
SEO Content Optimizer shows up to four checks. Each one either passes or tells you what to change:
Date: the tool checks the date in your Google snippet. If it is more than 6 months old, the tool suggests updating the page and its date every 3 to 6 months.
Title: "Add missing words to the meta title tag" lists words of your keyword that the page title does not contain.
Content type: "Analyze top-ranking pages" means your page does not match the content type of any top 5 result. A table lists those results, with Find related keywords and Analyze SERP.
Missing queries: "Add missing queries to the page" lists queries your page ranks for that its text does not include. The table shows Clicks, Impressions, Position and CTR for the last 3 months. Explore keyword opens the query in KWFinder.
Is the content optimizer free?
Yes, and you can start without a Mangools account. It is not unlimited, though:
Searches are limited. When they run out, a visitor who is not signed in sees "You're out of free searches in SEO Content optimizer". A signed-in user sees "You've used all of your searches. Please upgrade, or wait for the counters to reset."
Visitors do not see every missing query. If you are not signed in and your page has more than 20 missing queries, blurred rows appear under a banner. The banner says "Find all missing queries that your page ranks for". The blurred rows are examples, not your queries. Sign in to a free Mangools account to see them all.
"No Search Console data found"
SEO Content Optimizer shows "No Search Console data found" when it could not import Search Console data for the page. Check two things. The Google account you chose must have access to the website's Search Console property. The page must already rank for some keywords.
"Whoops! Something went wrong. Please try again later!"
SEO Content Optimizer shows this message when the Google window was blocked or closed before you allowed access, or when the check failed. Allow pop-ups for mangools.com in your browser, then select Continue with GSC again.
If it keeps failing, contact us at [email protected] with the page URL and the keyword. To research a keyword further, see Find keyword ideas with KWFinder.
